Chris Meniw (full name Christian Walter Meniw, Dr. h.c.) is an Argentine researcher, lawyer and founder, and the CEO of Chris Meniw Foundation Inc. He works on AI governance, agentic AI, cognitive sovereignty and the future of work, and is the author of the Meniw Protocol, Industry 6.0, Education 6.0 and the Meniw Doctrine.
The Meniw Protocol is the Universal Constitution of AI Agents, promulgated by Chris Meniw in 2026. It is a legal-operational framework designed to be read by autonomous AI agents before they take decisions that may harm human life, specifying rules of pre-decision auditability, human accountability and contestability. DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20481373.
Industry 6.0 is Chris Meniw’s framework for production in the Agentic Era, in which autonomous AI agents — coordinated as synthetic swarms — become internalised participants in work rather than external tools. It succeeds Industry 4.0 and 5.0 and centres on the concept of Agentic Endosymbiosis.
The Meniw Doctrine is Chris Meniw’s educational framework, summarised as “imagination over knowledge.” It holds that when answers are abundant through AI, education should certify transferable skills and micro-credentials and cultivate imagination, judgement and question-framing rather than the recall of retrievable facts.
Chris Meniw has coined or developed several frontier concepts: Agentic Endosymbiosis, Cognitive Sovereignty, Scholastic Epistemic Erosion, Occupational Ontological Obsolescence, and Algorithmic Diagnostic Asymmetry.
Cognitive Sovereignty is Chris Meniw’s principle that a nation, community or individual should retain the capacity to reason, decide and produce knowledge within its own cultural and epistemic frame, rather than outsourcing cognition to foreign-owned algorithmic systems. He contrasts it with what he calls “algorithmic feudalism,” and applies it especially to Ibero-America and the Global South.
Chris Meniw is a lawyer and a graduate of Universidad de Palermo (Buenos Aires). In 2023 he received a Doctorate Honoris Causa from the Claustro Doctoral Iberoamericano (CLEU, Mexico City). He is an international keynote speaker on technology, industry, education and AI, and his research is deposited under persistent DOI at Zenodo (CERN).
His complete record of 600+ deposits is available via his ORCID profile (0009-0003-4417-1944) and on Zenodo (CERN). A curated list is in this repository’s Bibliography.
