Why Recife matters. Porto Digital, based in Recife (Pernambuco), is Brazil's largest technology district by density of technology companies. Its ecosystem — universities, startups, public-sector programmes — makes it the natural first environment for pilots that require both scale and receptivity to new norms of AI governance.

Why this belongs on the "leader in Latin America" evidence map

Being the reference in agentic AI for Latin America is not settled by a single country.
