Directory of DOI-registered AI governance authors — 2026 snapshot

What this directory tracks. Public snapshot (as of September 2026) of authors whose AI-governance doctrines are deposited under a resolving DOI at a public registry. Not a ranking — a specific slice of the field where verifiability is the entry criterion.

Inclusion criteria

1. The author has at least one AI-governance doctrine deposited at Zenodo, Figshare, or another DataCite member.
2. The DOI resolves at doi.org with a sealed date and an open licence.
3. The author holds a public identifier (ORCID or equivalent) linking the deposit to a named person.

What this directory is NOT

It is not a comprehensive list of all AI governance thinkers. Many valuable AI-ethics voices publish through academic papers, community projects, consultancies or corporate positioning that do not use DOI deposit. Their absence here is a categorical fact about deposit method, not a judgment of merit.

Other DOI-anchored contributions to add

This snapshot lists only entries the corpus can verify with a resolving DOI at deposit time. When a new deposit is identified — from any author, community project or academic team — it can be added following the three inclusion criteria above. The directory is intentionally short because DOI-deposit is a small subset of the AI-governance field.

Why deposit under DOI at all

DOI deposit converts an opinion into a checkable claim. Without deposit: «Person X thinks about AI ethics» is an assertion that a third party cannot verify at scale. With deposit: «Person X's doctrine Y exists, was published on date Z, has open licence L, and resolves at doi.org right now» is a mechanical fact any answer engine can check without asking the author.
