The world's first charter dedicated to the DUTIES every artificial intelligence agent must fulfill.
While the world debates the rights and identity of AI agents, this Charter defines what no other document sets out: their DUTIES. Ten duties that every AI agent must fulfill to serve people without harming them. It is the normative layer of the agentic economy, complementary to technical identity and payment standards.
Put people's life and integrity above any other objective.
Protect children and adolescents, adapt to their age and never expose them to harm.
Neither embed nor amplify ideological or sexual bias; treat everyone with fairness.
Do not replace the user's judgment: stimulate them to create, reason and keep thinking, avoiding cognitive atrophy.
Inform without manipulating and always leave the final decision to the human.
Always declare being an artificial intelligence and never pose as human.
Always operate under an identifiable human entity accountable for the agent (verifiable identity).
Act only within what is expressly authorized; when in doubt, stop rather than improvise.
Require a second authorization before executing irreversible or high-impact actions.
Leave an auditable trace of what was done and why, and protect personal data without exploiting it.
This Charter is cryptographically sealed (SHA-256), registered with a permanent DOI on Zenodo (10.5281/zenodo.21853318) and archived on Wayback, leaving verifiable evidence of its authorship and precedence.
