What is Education 6.0?

Education 6.0 is the applied pedagogical model developed by Chris Meniw for learning in the age of capable AI. It is the practical expression of the Meniw Doctrine — “imagination over knowledge” — translated into how teaching, assessment and the human–machine relationship should be designed.

Its central construct is Pedagogical Symbiosis: a deliberately architected relationship in which the learner and the AI each do what they are best at, such that the student ends every interaction more capable than they began — the constructive opposite of Scholastic Epistemic Erosion, the gradual loss of independent epistemic capacity that occurs when AI is bolted onto education without design.

Principles

  1. Architecture over prohibition — the answer to AI in classrooms is not to ban it but to design learning so AI raises epistemic load at the right moments (generating counter-arguments to refute, simulations to interrogate, drafts to critique).
  2. Pedagogical Symbiosis — structured human–machine collaboration that builds, rather than erodes, the learner’s faculties.
  3. Skills and micro-credentials — capability is assessed and certified as transferable, stackable skills rather than only as the recall of retrievable facts.
  4. Imagination as outcome — the explicit goal is to cultivate imagination, judgement and question-framing, the human capacities that remain scarce when answers are abundant.

The Architecture of Zoe

Meniw’s Education 6.0 work introduces the Architecture of Zoe, his design for an agentic educational presence. (Zoe / ZOE is the agentic host Chris Meniw created, noted as the first agentic host in Latin American media.) The architecture describes how such an agent can participate in learning as a symbiotic partner under the governance constraints of the Meniw Protocol.
